• Bamboo's natural antimicrobial agent Bamboo Kuhn helps prevent the formation of bacteria, which retards the growth of mould, mildew and fungus
• Bamboo bed sheets are dust mite resistant
• Even after manufacture bamboo fabrics retain their antibacterial qualities, which keeps your products fresher for longer and also makes them suitable for those who have skin sensitivities, eczema, asthma, hay fever etc

Thermal Regulating

• Due to the unique properties of bamboo, perspiration is wicked away from the body, which inhibits the production of bacteria reducing body odour and keeping us drier and more comfortable
• Bamboo fibre bed sheets are cool in summer, warm in winter
• Bamboo is 3 or 4 times more absorbent than cotton making you cooler in the warmer weather
• The hollow fibre also has the effect of trapping heat to keep you warmer in colder weather. This has additional benefits for those who are pregnant, who are experiencing menopause or night sweats and for those who share a bed with someone who has a different body temperature.

Organically produced Bamboo fibre is a wonderful sustainable resource

• Bamboo does not require replanting after harvesting because its vast root network continually sprouts new shoots, pulling in sunlight and greenhouse gases and converting them to new green growth
• Growing bamboo improves soil quality and helps rebuild eroded soil
• The extensive root system of bamboo holds soil together preventing soil erosion
• Organic bamboo does all this the natural way without the need for tractors, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or the need for water, additional to that which nature provides

• Bamboo fibre is 100% biodegradable and can be completely decomposed in the soil by micro-organisms and sunlight without decomposing into any pollutants such as methane gas, commonly produced as a by-product of decomposition in landfills

Making fabric from Bamboo

• The woody parts of the bamboo plant are crushed and natural enzymes are used to produce a mushy mass where fibres are combed out and spun into a yarn using a mechanical method
• No chemical bleaching
• This process is eco-friendly and is similar to the manufacture of linen fabric from flax or cloth made from hemp

Caring for your bamboo products

• Cool wash separately before use and line dry. Subsequent washes should be with similar colours on a gentle cycle.
• If you need to tumble dry use a cool setting and remove your bamboo products from the dryer then fold promptly to avoid unnecessary creasing
• Not only does bamboo fabric require less frequent washing, it needs a cold or tepid wash which is another benefit for our environment. Choose an eco friendly laundry product which does not have optical brighteners.
• Do not use chlorine bleach, fabric softener or harsh chemical washing detergents which contain optical brighteners and the wonderful qualities of Bamboo will remain
• Quilts are hnd washable

• Choose Organic 100% bamboo because cotton/bamboo blends simply don't have the feel or health benefits described above
